Her Business

Erin was practically up all night last night.
Olivia kept getting up and she needed to be fed and such.
At 7:30 am, it was my turn,
And I was on a mission to let Erin sleep.
Erin ended up sleeping until 11:30 am,
Which I believe is the most sleep she's had since Olivia was born.

Olivia was crying, and Erin just fed her,
So naturally, I figured she needed her diaper changed.
She had a little spot of poo in her diaper,
So I changed it,
But as I was reaching for the butt cream,
She started letting some more out on the new diaper I just grabbed.
I wiped her down again and was rolling up her dirty diaper when she started letting even more out.
This time, I didn't have a diaper down,
So it was getting on her onesie.
I don't know why, but my instinct said put the new diaper down before it gets on the changing pad,
Which didn't have one of those waterproof sheets on yet.
It was just too early for all of this,
And of course, the third diaper was ruined too.
It was a disaster!

Later in the morning,
And this was still while Erin was sleeping,
Olivia did the same thing.
Luckily, this time it was just #1,
And I only went through two diapers before I was able to successfully get her changed,
But I'm beginning to think Olivia doesn't believe in diapers.
She knows when the diaper comes off,
And she times her business perfectly around our changing routine.

I read online that it's typical for babies to do this due to the temperature change when removing the diaper,
But Olivia does this often,
And I'm convinced she's ready for the toilet.
She just has to work on keeping her head up without support.
Then I'm sure she'll be ready. I think we hit the jackpot with this one.

I'm being sarcastic!
