Mommies Don't Get a Break

I work fives day a week at a call center for a research company.
My job is to supervise interviewers who conduct telephone surveys with businesses.
I'm off on the weekends.
That would seem like a typical job,
But Erin works 24-7.

The weekends are when she catches up on her sleep.
Or at least she tries,
And that's usually a team effort.

Today, she slept almost 3 hours straight,
And that's a long time for her.

As much as her body is saying it's tired,
Her mind has a powerful attachment to her daughter that overrides the body.
It's maternal instinct.
Erin's an awesome mom,
And Olivia is lucky to have her.

There's another person Olivia is lucky to have,
And that's Bev, Erin's mom (in the picture above).
Bev has gone above and beyond to make this experience an amazing one.
We had tough times,
And she always knew how to make things better.
She's Erin's role model,
And I couldn't imagine a better one.
Olivia is lucky to have her too.

Right now, we're staying with Bev and Stu, Erin's parents.
We're in the process of getting an apartment,
But my first-shift job only leaves me with Saturdays to hunt for one,
And that hasn't exactly been helpful.
Erin is going to look at places with Bev next week,
And we're hoping to decide on one very soon.

With a baby now,
We don't want to have to move for awhile,
So the search hasn't been easy,
But we're ready to get situated and begin our journey.
